HYNA – Taratika
Imagine Koda Kumi and a Drag Queen rolled into one. That’s HYNA. With lyrics like “Oh boy, if you’re gonna bitch about it, go away!” and a video reminiscent of a porno, Japan’s newest singer brings out the beats, along with a harp and some pretty descent vocals.
It was kind of hard for me to hear the music at first, as my attention was captured by the long blond hair flicking everywhere, and the fact that almost every scene has some sort of naughty bit in it. But once I got past that, I was able to hear the song, think “WOW the music sounds like Telephone by Lady Gaga, but I like it!” (Seriously. If you play them side by side you’ll find that HYNA’s song uses a LOT of Telephone. All it lacks is the weird beat-switch for the second verse. It’s still good, though.)
This one is a good club banger (it could have used a heavier bass track, though), and if the rest of her single is like this, then I will definitely be giving her debut album a listen ♥
Heh, the girl on the far right of the still looks a little like Tim Curry from The Rocky Horror Picture Show :D
